Frank R. Paul

Frank R. Paul (1884-1963), is considered the 'father' of science fiction illustration, and many of his illustrations have come to define classic sci-fi works and imagery.

He illustrated hundreds of magazine covers, including Amazing Stories and Wonder Stories. He illustrated the first cover of Marvel Comics (issue Oct-Nov 1939).

He was Guest of Honor at the first World Science Fiction Convention in 1939, and continued to illustrate works until his death in 1963.
